On Sunday, October 20, the Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon is set to run once again. This year, due to a high volume of construction, the marathon route will take a bit of a winding path through Corktown. Residents need be made aware of the route, as the street closures will make it tough to navigate the neighbourhood by car while the race is on, especially if you live between Eastern and King Street between River Street and Sackville Street.

Only the marathon route will impact Corktown, with most of the runners expected to pass through the area between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Corktowners who want to cheer the runners along should get together at Underpass Park. Bring signs, noise-makers and your best encouraging slogans!
