Established 1819
The Corktown Residents and Business Association is a volunteer-led not-for-profit organization working to make Toronto’s historic Corktown neighbourhood an even better place to live, work and play.
Our primary purpose is to contribute to Corktown’s liveability through initiatives intended to engage Corktowners, while highlighting our local heritage and promoting environmental awareness for sustainable community development. Fortunate to have a vibrant ‘main street’ business community, and strategic location within Old Town Toronto through which to do so, we are committed to enabling as inclusive community engagement as possible.
We currently prioritize Corktowners within the boundaries of Berkeley Street (west), River Street (east), Shuter Street (north) and Eastern Street (south), with Corktown more broadly including Corktown Common and the area immediately north of the Distillery District and West Don Lands.
The Corktown Residents & Business Association, Inc., (1996) acknowledges that the land we reside on is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. We also acknowledge that Tkaronto (Toronto) is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.
