Corktown news & events for the week of March 16, 2015

ST. PAT’S: We hope all Corktowners will join us this Tuesday, March 17 for a Very Corktown St. Patrick’s Day Party at Odin Cafe + Bar.  (514 King East) Between 6 and 10 p.m., come by for some festive Irish fun and great music. If that weren’t enough, a dollar from every glass of Left Field Brewery beer will go toward the CRBA to help fund neighbourhood initiatives. Don’t miss it!

GREEN ROOF: Based on feedback given through their online survey and at community events like our March CRBA public meeting, the Cherry Street Y has unveiled four potential designs for their GREEN ROOF.

You can take a look at the designs in detail and provide more feedback by filling out the next phase of the survey.

The Y is also looking for people to volunteer and help build the roof. You can learn more at their website.

BUSINESS UPDATES: Lots of King East happenings to report. Roselle Desserts at 362 King East continues to get great press, with a quick profile in Toronto Life. Meanwhile, we’re delighted to welcome Made Design to 394 King East and The Dirty Inc. to 396 King East.

ALUMNAE THEATRE: The NEW IDEAS FESTIVAL continues this week at Alumnae Theatre with a series of great works. You can get tickets online. And get ready: Alumnae’s next full production I AM MARGUERITE debuts April 10. You can learn more here.

LESLIEVILLE FLEA: This Sunday, March 22, head down to the fermenting cellar in the Distillery District for the much-loved LESLIEVILLE FLEA — still at its winter location for another month. It’s on from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Learn more at their website.
