BALA UNDERPASS ART: The new underpass mural by artist Rolande Souliere was unveiled this past Friday. The CRBA was there, along with Councillor Pam McConnell and reps from Street Art Toronto. Urban Toronto has the story.
CHERRY STREET: As promised, Cherry Street opened last week to all vehicles. Note that the northbound lane of Cherry Street from Lake Shore Blvd to Mill Street will be closed in the near future for 4-6 weeks for water main work being done by Waterfront Toronto. Dates for this work are not yet known, but we’ll keep you posted.

SUMACH ESPRESSO: Sumach Espresso, a new coffee shop from the owners of Broadview Espresso, is now open at 118 Sumach Street, at Shuter. Stop by and check it out. We’ll have a profile up at corktown.ca this week!
IMPACT KITCHEN: Impact Kitchen, the new healthy eatery at 573 King East (at St. Lawrence) is set to open this Thursday, October 8 at 8 a.m. We’re looking forward to checking it out!

DOMINION ON QUEEN: Thanks to eagle-eyed Corktowners for letting us know that Dominion on Queen, now managed by Fab Concepts, now has a re-opening date of December 2015. We can’t wait.
ON STAGE: You can get your tickets today for INTERVIEW WITH A DEMON, a new show at Corktown’s Alumnae Theatre set to debut in November, with a preview showing on November 10 and the official debut set for November 11. You can learn more about the production here.
RIVERSIDE WALKS: Our friends in Riverside are hosting another Riverside Walks event this Saturday, October 10. Come out and enjoy the final flower market of the season and a FREE guided tour of the neighbourhood on the other side of the river. The details are online.

LET’S GO BLUE JAYS: Corktown business owner Giuseppe Pelligra, proprietor of the famed Fusilli Ristorante, got into the playoff spirit last week as the Toronto Blue Jays clinched their first division title in 22 years. Swing by his restaurant at 531 Queen East for some pre-game pasta!
