Cherry St. YMCA Opening this Weekend for Tours

Big excitement this week!  The Cherry St. YMCA is opening on Sunday, May 15th for tours and trial classes.  There will be a variety of classes for you to try out on Sunday starting at 10am and there will also be trial classes for the next two weeks.  Check out the schedule  and come and visit our great new community addition.

Calling All Artists! 

Waterfront Toronto has introduced a program called  Animating Our Waterfront. It’s a pilot project that will award up to $5,000 to artists or arts organizations who want to present arts and cultural programming in waterfront public spaces.  See here for Program Details.  Note that the cutoff for the application is May 13.

“Toast” Pop up shop opening in the Distillery District

Toast will be open weekends in May. They will be selling not your average bread, with one of a kind spreads.  Check them out on Instagram or Facebook or better yet, go and check them out in person!

Project Kids and Cameras Exhibit Now On

In the last Corktown News, an article told you all about this photography program being run for children in Regent Park.  An exhibit with their photos is now running at Daniels Spectrum.   It is only running until May 15 so pop over as soon as you can!  It is showing on the first and second floors of the Daniels Spectrum at 585 Dundas Street East (Dundas and Sackville).

Lift CrossFit Corktown Opening Soon

Lift CrossFit Corktown, 508 King St E,  will be opening on June 18th.  In the meantime you can take part in a free class on Sunday, May 15th at 11:00am at Underpass Park.  Check out their website for pre-opening specials, class schedules and other details.
