Call for Volunteers: Corktown Gardening Clean-Up Day on July 28, 2024

Call for Volunteers: Join Us for a Gardening Clean-Up Day!

We’re excited to invite all green thumbs and nature enthusiasts to participate in our upcoming gardening clean-up day! This is a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community, connect with fellow gardening enthusiasts, and make a positive impact on the environment.

If you are a fan of the pollinator garden at Sackville Playground (at the entrance of the park), created by CRBA and a group of volunteers from Corktown, you can be a part of the creation of a second garden, this time on Sumach Street.

Event Details:

  • Date: July 28, 2024
  • Time: 9 am – noon
  • Location: Meet us at the parking lot of Inglenook Community School on Sumach Street.
  • Agenda: We will be cleaning up 3 of the boulevard-facing garden beds on the east side of the Community School, take out the existing shrubs and weeds in them, and prep the site for the creation of a pollinator garden, which will take place at another date in the early Fall.

 What to Bring:

  • Gardening gloves
  • Sunscreen
  • Hat
  • Water bottle
  • Any gardening tools you may have (e.g., shovel, trowel, pruning shears)

How to Participate: If you’re interested in joining us for a day of gardening fun and community spirit, please RSVP by July 25th by emailing info@corktown.ca

Note: This event is open to all ages and skill levels. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just starting out, your help and enthusiasm are greatly appreciated.

Let’s come together to beautify our community and create a more vibrant and sustainable environment for all to enjoy! We look forward to seeing you there.

Thank you for your support!
