CRBA Parks, Public Realm & Open Spaces committee meets Thursday, April 3

The Corktown Residents & Business Association will be holding a meeting of its Parks, Public Realm & Open Spaces committee on Thursday, April 3. The meeting is an opportunity to talk about local issues relating to our parks and public spaces.

Date: Thursday April 3rd

Time: 6:30 – 8:00 pm

Location: Dixon Hall Employment Services, 489 Queen St. E., #300.

We have a really exciting year coming up with lots of great volunteer
opportunities. Our initiatives include:

  • CITY OF TORONTO PARKS LEVIES: Over the next few years, the City of Toronto will invest hundreds of thousands of dollars from development park levies into local community parks. We need the community’s help to provide input into what these park improvements will look like.
  • PUBLIC ART INITIATIVES: There are numerous opportunities for streetscape improvements through the City’s StreetARToronto program. We need people to help guide these initiatives.
  • FRIENDS OF CORKTOWN COMMON: The Friends of Corktown Common will be looking for ways to animate this new jewel in the City. If you have any ideas or can volunteer for an event, we can use your help.
  • CLEAN TORONTO TOGETHER 2014: The CRBA will once again be putting together teams for the City’s annual Clean Toronto Together program. We need all hands on deck on April 26 & 27 to help with spring cleaning.
  • AND MANY MORE!
