About the CRBA

The CRBA (Corktown Residents and Business Association) is a not-for-profit and non-commercial volunteer neighbourhood organization, which follows the latest developments in Corktown on a wide range of topics. We serve as a liaison between Corktown and many relevant organizations.  The CRBA is an inclusive organization open to all local residents and businesses. We are not aligned with any political parties or religions and we highly value openness to all ideas and to non-discrimination.

Where is Corktown?

The area included in the CRBA’s mandate is generally defined by Shuter Street to the north, the Don River to the east, the rail corridor to the south, and Berkeley Street to the west.

CRBA Mandate

  • Keep the local residents and businesses informed through monthly public meetings, a recurring newsletter and an up-to-date website.
  • Convey community concerns and issue priorities to all relevant public and private institutions.
  • Help realize neighbourhood improvements, using a constructive and collaborative approach.

The Board of Directors

The CRBA Board of Directors is comprised of both residents and business owners from the neighbourhood. Board members are elected on an annual basis for an one-year term at the CRBA’s Annual General Meeting. All members of the CRBA in good standing are eligible to cast a vote and run for a position on the Board.
