The Tragically Hip Celebration

So you didn’t get tickets to The Tragically Hip’s final show but want to feel like you’re there?  Come to the showing of CBC’s live broadcast in The Distillery District.

The Gata Water Ceremony

Where: Sherbourne Common
When: Thursday, August 18 from 6:30pm – 10pm
This performance will move through the many spaces and landscapes of Sherbourne Common transforming it into an opera house.  It is a celebration and acknowledgement of Lake Ontario as the provider of our most precious resource on Earth: Water.

Draw The Lines – Toronto Ward Boundary Review
In 2014 Toronto City Council launched a review of the Toronto Ward Boundaries.  The Final Report was issued in May 2016 at which time the Executive Committee asked for additional information.  As a result, this Additional Information Report was produced.  During August and September 2016, they are seeking comments from the public.

There are two ways to provide comments:

  • Complete a survey (Online or in PDF)
  • Attend one of four public meetings happening this September (visit drawthelines.ca for details)  Note: Sept 14th – Toronto City Hall (closest one to Corktown)

Gardiner Environmental Assessment Draft
draft environmental assessment report has been issued for the reconfiguration of the Gardiner Expressway and Lake Shore Boulevard East, from just west of Jarvis Street to approximately Leslie Street.  When this happens, it will have a large impact on our community.
The review period ends on September 6, 2016.
Comments may be submitted via one of the following options:

  1. An online feedback form;
  2. Email to info@gardinereast.ca; or
