Celebrate the New 514 Cherry Streetcar Service and much more…

Construction Update from Metrolinx

On Tuesday, June 7, the installation of conduit (cable) began in the area closest to Queen Street. This work will be moving south through the rail corridor towards Cherry Street over the coming weeks. This work is scheduled to take place between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Tracks must be taken out of service to complete this work and as a result this work can only be carried out during off-peak times, when there is less train traffic. Nearby residents may notice some activity and lights in the rail corridor during this time. Due to the nature of this work a vacuum truck may be used, as this is the only method of excavating that can be used without damaging underground services. We will ensure any lights are directed away from homes when possible.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Loretta Allen at 416-581-1300.
