Corktown, Toronto eNewsletter for the week of December 7, 2015

PARTY TIME: The big news this week is that it’s time for the annual Corktown Christmas Party!

This neighbourhood-wide event will take place this Sunday, December 13 from 5 to 9 p.m. Our gracious hosts this year will be Odin Cafe + Bar (514 King East) and Socrates Apallas, local realtor.

Join your neighbours for some holiday cheer! We’ll have live music, a silent auction, free hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar and more!

It’s always a great time. If you’re new to the neighbourhood and looking to get to know some fellow Corktowners, this is an excellent way to get started. You can RSVP on Facebook.

DOMINION’S DAY: It’s been a week since the renovated and refreshed Dominion Pub & Kitchen opened their doors. Our own Dennis Kucherawy covered the opening here.

For a look at their menu and upcoming music line-up, you can check out the Dominion website.

THE CORKTOWN NEWS: The winter edition of the Corktown News has gone out to the community. If you didn’t get a copy in your mailbox, you can check it out online for a great line-up of stories on local issues.

HELLO FEAST: Taking over the former Gilead Bistro space, Feast is a new online food delivery service providing affordable, delectable delights straight to your door. Their iPhone app is now available, which means you can start ordering. Use the offer code CORKTOWN to save $5 off your first order.

NEW BUSINESS: We wanted to give a shout-out this week to new retailer Sift. Located “on the cusp of Corktown” at Queen & Seaton, Sift is “rustic modern in style and features a variety of offerings, including vintage clothing, mid century modern decor and barware, locally made furniture and stationery including art prints, greeting cards, and much more!”

You can visit them online or check out their new digs at 246 Queen East.

RIVER CITY PHASE TWO: Urban Toronto took a look last week at the freshly-completed River City Phase Two project. They’ve captured some great photos.

COTTAGEY CORKTOWN: BlogTO took a fun look last week at the “lost cottage architecture” in Toronto. A lot of it is still found right here in Corktown.

CAHOOTS AUCTION: Corktown’s Cahoots Theatre is running their annual “Give and Give Back” online auction to raise money for their much-loved artistic initiatives. Cross some items off your holiday shopping list and support a good cause by clicking here.
