Regretfully and ruefully, it seems summer is almost over. Here’s a few things going on in Corktown this week, leading into the long weekend.

First, we’ve got two new shows at the Young Centre for the Performing Arts in the Distillery District.

On Tuesday, August 26, check out the debut of GLENN, a “fascinating and moving look at the music and mythology of an eternally captivating figure” that puts the spotlight on Glenn Gould. It runs until October 1, and you can get tickets online.

Then, on August 30, check out Soulpepper’s production of the Arthur Miller classic THE CRUCIBLE, on stage through September 20. Again, grab your tickets online.

On Thursday, August 28, MUSIC IN THE PARK returns to Little Trinity Park at 7 p.m. This week, our friends at Little Trinity Church are excited to welcome singer Sarah Burton. The event is completely free and all are welcome — bring a blanket or lawn chair for maximum comfort.

And on the long weekend, the Distillery District is the place to be as ARTFEST returns with their Fine Arts & Craft Show. Admission is completely free, with exhibitors setting up between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., Friday through Monday. Check out Artfest’s website for details.
