Corktown news for the week of July 28, 2014
Some good news on the transit front: the construction work at Queen & Broadview was completed ahead of schedule, which means streetcars have returned to service on Queen East in Corktown. But be warned: track work at Broadview & Danforth have caused further diversions. View the TTC’s diversion page for details. Here’s their map of how streetcar service will work until construction finishes on August 31:

Corktown events for the week of July 28, 2014
The West Don Lands Committee is set to hold their monthly public meeting on Monday, July 28. This month’s agenda includes a presentation from Derek Goring, VP of Development for First Gulf on the Korex Site Redevelopment at Lake Shore and Don Road. The meeting will take place in the 11th floor amenity room at 39 Parliament Street (Entry Code: 182) between 7 and 9 p.m.
On Wednesday, July 30, the Corktown Ukelele Jam returns once again to the Dominion on Queen (500 Queen East, at Sumach). If you’ve never been to a Uke Jam before, now is a great time to check it out. Visit their website and event calendar for details. Things get jamming at 8 p.m.
The music continues on Thursday, July 31 as Music in the Park returns to Little Trinity Park. Put on by our friends at Little Trinity Church, this week park-goers will get to hear from the Thomas Williams Jazz Combo. Click here to download the flyer. Finally, head to the Distillery District this long weekend to check out the return of the Artfest Summer Arts & Crafts Show.
