Christmas approaches like a speeding train and there is no escape. So embrace the cheer with the Corktown Cheer Holiday Party, this Wednesday, December 19 at Jamie Kennedy’s Gilead Cafe. They’re inviting all neighbours — especially you newbies in the condos — to come out between 6 and 9 p.m. for cocktails and tapas. Don’t miss it.
If you’re looking for last-minute gift ideas, you can’t go wrong with a stroll down Historic Queen East to visit Corktown mainstays like Adornments on Queen, Even & Odd, Far Away Eyes and Ethel. Adornments on Queen just released their December newsletter, announcing a Boxing Day Sale and a very special announcement to hit their website on December 23rd. Keep an eye on it.
The Toronto Cafe Blog has given a glowing review to Redline Coffee at 354 Queen Street East. Amongst other things, the reviewer notes the cafe’s “cutest menu boards ever!” They are exceptionally cute.
Another new opening in the neighbourhood: Prologue Lifestyle, a spa on the ground floor of the new King East condo development at the corner of King & Parliament. Watch their website for updates.
If you’re looking for something to do on New Year’s Eve, Corktown has a couple of great options.
