Prepare to kick back and take it easy. The Toronto Jazz Festival starts this week and, once again, Corktown’s own Dominion on Queen is set to play host to several concerts and events. The Dominion has posted a full schedule—things kick off on Friday.
Just east of us, businesses of Leslieville are inviting everyone to come out on Thursday, June 21 from 6 to 10 p.m. for Leslieville Summerlust. They promise an evening of “music! performances! prizes” and also “deals! summer fun! games! adventure!” It looks like a great time.
Speaking of Leslieville: BlogTO’s Rebecca Fleming has a look at Leslieville Pumps, a great example of adaptive reuse. It definitely looks more appealing than your average Toronto gas station.
At the Distillery District on Saturday, check out MEC Bikefest, a “celebration of all things bicycle-related.” They’re offering a packed schedule of events and workshops. As a bonus, Cycle Toronto will be offering free valet parking for those that travel to the show on two wheels.
Also bike-related: the first annual Toronto Island Custom Bicycle Show and Rally. This event involves a group ride from Cherry Beach to the ferry docks and then on to Toronto Island.
On the topic of new additions to the neighbourhood, developer Fieldgate Homes has posted a construction update for the Corktown Mews project on River Street.
