Corktown 2019 - King East Business Consultation
Exciting Times Ahead in Corktown. This is going to be a quick post and worth your time to read!

Next Public Meeting

Our next scheduled Public Meeting is September 3rd at the YMCA and will officially kick off Corktown’s 2019 Federal Election coverage.  Until then, visit our Facebook page for event updates, news on the Underpass Park Farmer’s Market and a couple other surprises we have lined up this Summer.

YMCA Membership Assistance

In our most recent Newsletter, the GTA YMCA told us about their Membership Assistance program.  In it, they detailed their goal of making sure everyone can join their GTA locations regardless of financial situation.  To find out more about the program, click here.

Digital Strategy

In December 2018, we started a 6 month strategic review of Corktown’s mandate, services and properties.  The review identified a need to move into the digital world and we need your help!

Are you, or do you know anyone, looking for an awesome resume builder? We’re one of Toronto’s leading neighbourhood/business assocations and are looking for help in building a digital strategy. If this sounds intriguing, reach out to us at info@corktown.ca and let us know you can help out for a 3 month term over the Summer.

King East Business Consultation

On May 28th at Odin Cafe we hosted over a dozen business owners from the King St. strip between Parliament and River Streets. The discussion centered around how we can animate the space better and give residents and visitors a sense of knowing they’re in Corktown.

We’ve begun working with the City and these stakeholders on developing a plan on how to fund street level improvements to make the neighbourhood more inviting to everyone.

Canary District Business Consultation

We’re taking the Business Consultation show on the road over the next few months to each of the 5 Business Zones we’ve identified in Corktown. Canary District is our next stop and we’re planning to host the businesses in this neighbourhood in early July to see how Corktown can best support their unique needs.

If you’re one of these businesses and we haven’t chatted yet, reach out to info@corktown.ca to get the dialogue train rolling.

Talk soon,
Corktown Toronto
