This year, Canada celebrates its 150th anniversary as a confederation. On this special occasion, the Toronto Parks and Trees Foundation together with the Aston Family Foundation, is proud to present the 1st North American presentation of Making Peace.
Making Peace is an International Photo Exhibition which pays tribute to the people who — all over the planet — devote their time, energy and resources to the cause of peace and how these persons and organizations have shaped and influenced the course of the 20th century.
This outdoor photo exhibit consists of 125 photos that be displayed along Front St E from just east of Cherry Street into Corktown Common. Besides the photo exhibit, there will be:
- The Gallery – a temporary ‘pop-up’ exhibition, dialogue and performance venue featuring the talents of Canadian based artists.
- Give Me Five – workshops for teachers, students and families to learn about the five key elements of Making Peace.
- i-Peace – an interactive online program featuring a free mobile ‘quiz’ app especially for youth and families.
Making Peace will open in Corktown on May 13 and run until September 24.
If you would like to donate to the Toronto Making Peace Exhibition, please go to Toronto Parks and Trees Foundation and click on the link for Making Peace Project. A tax receipt will be issued for all donations over $10. Every little bit will help ensure that the exhibition in Corktown will be great!
