This is a busy week of openings and events in Corktown!  Lets hope the weather is as awesome as it was last weekend!

May 21 – Gears Bike Shop in the Canary District (500 Front St E. – right by Corktown Common) is now open.   Go down and check it out!

May 25 – Grand Opening of the Canary District Running Room!

To register for the run/walk event, go to this link.  The fee is $10 and 100% of the proceeds go to the Cooper Koo Family Cherry St YMCA.

May 28-29 – Doors Open Toronto
The Doors Open Toronto 2016 theme of Re-used, Re-visited and Revised will explore the adaptive re-use of buildings throughout Toronto’s architectural history. Check out this link to decide which buildings you want to see or which walking tours are of interest.

May 28-29 – Waterfront Toronto West Don Lands Public Art Tour
This is a free walking tour that is part of Doors Open Toronto.  Register in advance.

TTC Meetings

May 25 – Waterfront Transit Reset Public Meeting

A public meeting is scheduled for the Waterfront Transit “Reset” Phase 1 Study. There will be a presentation of the study progress to date and a range of transit concepts under consideration for a comprehensive waterfront transit network.
A range of preliminary concepts are being developed and evaluated to help determine a preferred east-west waterfront transit solution that will integrate north/south transit and active transportation, linking people from across the City to the waterfront and its nearby destinations and attractions.

Your participation and feedback is important and will help shape the future of waterfront transit.

June 2 – Relief Line Project Assessment – Learn more and provide your input:

Public meetings are being held to provide an update on major transit initiatives, including planning for the Relief Line. We are looking for your feedback on the results of the evaluation of alignment options.
Visit reliefline.ca to view more information.  You will be able to provide your feedback at the meetings and online. The closest meeting for Corktowners is at Riverdale Collegiate but if you would like to go but cannot make that day, check out the website for other options.
